Franklin's Spelling Bee Champ!
Oakland Spelling Bee, February 4, 2010
Alyssa Agustin, our brazen, ebullient alternate, represented the Franklin Tigers with courage and decorum at last night’s Oakland Spelling Bee at Havenscourt School.
About one hundred words were spelled in all. The bee started with students from about forty elementary schools. Thirty-two students passed round one. Alyssa was among twenty-three who went on to Round Three. Only ten students passed Round Three, and they easily fell, one by one, to the increasingly difficult words. The tie breaker between the final two spellers was lackadaisical!
Thanks to all the fourth and fifth grade students who participated in the Franklin School Bee. I hope it was a good experience for you!
